Roof Waterproofing Parkhurst

Slab, Boarded Roof & Skylight Waterproofing

This project is an example of roof waterproofing Parkhurst for a residential property with multiple flat roof sections, skylights, boarded roof areas, and nearby solar panels.

TaylorMade Waterproofing was appointed to complete a structured waterproofing system across a slab and boarded roof area, while also treating five skylights and working carefully around the existing solar panel installation.

Complete Roof Waterproofing Parkhurst Project Overview

This roof waterproofing Parkhurst project was completed for a residential property with a mixed roof structure. The roof included pitched tiled sections, flat roof areas, skylights, boarded roof sections, and solar panels.

The existing waterproofing had to be stripped, damaged or rotten boards had to be removed where necessary, and the surface had to be prepared correctly before the new waterproofing system could be installed. The solution combined:

The roof also had existing solar panels and required careful attention to work within existing structures without causing any additional problems.

Slab and Boarded Roof Waterproofing Parkhurst

Stripping Failed Waterproofing and Preparing the Roof Surface

Before the new waterproofing system could be installed, the team cleaned down the area and stripped the existing waterproofing. This step was necessary because new waterproofing should not be installed over failed layers, trapped moisture, rotten boards, or unstable surfaces.

This stage is critical in boarded roof waterproofing Parkhurst projects. If the roof surface is weak, wet, or uneven, the final waterproofing layer may look complete but fail early.

Did you know?

Most failures in flat roof waterproofing often stem from underneath the system, where failed layers, moisture, poor preparation, or weak boards prevent the new waterproofing from bonding properly.

See AfriSam’s Guide for more details.

New Board Installation and Torch-On Waterproofing

4mm Torch-On Membrane for Long-Term Protection

Once the roof surface was prepared, TaylorMade Waterproofing supplied and installed chipboard where required. The boards were secured using self-tapping screws to create a stable surface for the waterproofing system.

A single layer of 4mm torch-on membrane was then applied using heat fusion. This created a durable waterproof barrier across the slab and boarded roof area.

This approach is suited to flat roof waterproofing Parkhurst projects where the roof needs more than a surface-level patch. The roof must first be corrected, then waterproofed.

Skylight Waterproofing Parkhurst Across Five Skylights

Sealing Roof Penetrations and Raised Details

The skylights were another part of this roof waterproofing Parkhurst project.

Skylights can become common leak points because they interrupt the normal roof surface. Water can enter around the frame, edges, flashing, or surrounding waterproofing if the detailing fails.

For this project, five skylights were treated using a liquid-applied waterproofing system.

Final Silver UV Protective Coating

Bituminous Aluminium Roof Paint Finish

After the torch-on waterproofing and skylight waterproofing systems were completed, the roof was finished with bituminous aluminium silver roof paint.

This final coating protects the waterproofing system from direct sun exposure and weathering. It also gives the completed flat roof sections a clean, consistent finish.

The silver coating was applied across the waterproofed areas, including the slab and boarded roof section and skylight waterproofing areas.

Duration and Execution

This roof waterproofing project was completed in 1 day.

Because the work was clearly scoped, TaylorMade Waterproofing was able to complete multiple targeted waterproofing tasks in a short timeframe.

If your property has leaks around skylights, flat roof sections, boarded roof areas, or solar panel roof zones, the problem should be assessed properly before more damage develops.

This project shows how roof waterproofing Parkhurst should be handled when the roof has multiple surface types and vulnerable details.

Roof Waterproofing Parkhurst Done Right

Instead of applying one generic product everywhere, TaylorMade Waterproofing used the correct approach for each part of the roof:

That is the difference between a temporary patch and a structured roof waterproofing system.

If your roof has already shown signs of leaking, the safest approach is not to wait. Water damage spreads through ceilings, boards, roof structures, and internal finishes over time.
