TaylorMade Waterproofing recently completed a professional waterproofing project in Parkhurst, located in the heart of Gauteng. The job focused on restoring and waterproofing a slab and boarded roof along with five skylights, ensuring long-term protection from leaks and weather-related deterioration. This project involved targeted work on both the main slab roof and the skylights. Our streamlined process ensured quality, durability, and compliance with waterproofing standards:
- Cleaned and prepared the slab and skylight areas.
- Stripped existing waterproofing and removed rotten boards.
- Installed new chip boards with secure fixings.
- Applied 4mm torch-on waterproofing using heat fusion.
- Coated skylights with high-quality waterproofing compound and polyester membrane.
- Protected all treated areas with aluminum roof paint for added longevity.

Challenges and Solutions
The slab roof had several deteriorated boards and aging waterproofing, posing a challenge to structural integrity. Our team replaced the boards and applied a robust waterproofing system using high-performance materials, including torch-on membranes and reflective coatings, ensuring a long-lasting solution.

Guarantee and Maintenance
The project was completed within the estimated time frame of 1–3 days, weather permitting. All work carried a 10-year waterproofing guarantee for the slab roof and a 5-year guarantee for skylight waterproofing. With scheduled maintenance every 2.5 years, this home is now well-protected against water damage for the long term.
